A five-part video series with Dr Sarah Heath, which is suitable for both vets and nurses, considering the emotional development of puppies and how the whole veterinary practice team can play a role in optimising the process for their patients.

The importance of appropriate advice for breeders and new owners is covered, as well as to how to present this information in an effective way. The specific issue of neutering is explored and the potential benefits and pitfalls of surgical neutering in relation to behaviour are discussed.

The aim of this series of videos is to encourage general practitioners to make the most of their unique level of contact with breeders and new owners in order to optimise emotional development in their canine patients. Emotionally stable dogs will live more successfully in a domestic environment and therefore be able to stay in their homes and remain patients of the practice for a lifetime.
